THE FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS HOLIDAY PARADE

This year the Festival of Lights Holiday Parade is proud to help promote Marion-Polk Food Share’s Sustainer Circle!
Marion-Polk Food Share is the non-profit food bank serving Marion and
Polk counties. Our mission to lead the fight to end hunger…because no
one should be hungry.
- Marion-Polk Food Share provides
emergency food through a network of 98 partner agencies and meal
sites. All food is provided to our partner agencies and food recipients
at no cost.
- 1 in 5 local families will need assistance from Marion-Polk Food Share this year.
- Each month 7,000 families receive emergency food assistance from Marion-Polk Food Share. This includes over 11,000 children.
- More than 53% of all students
qualify for free or reduced-price school lunches. For too many, the
meals they receive at school are the only food they eat each day.
- $10 is enough to provide a 50 pound food box - enough to feed a family for 3-5 days.
Hunger knows no season. Hunger affects families in our
community every month of the year. To make a difference in the fight
against hunger year-round, become a member of the Sustainer Circle.
